"Caio Dornelas was born and trained as a filmmaker in the same region where the Pedro e Inácio Settlement is located, he was subjected throughout his life to the same historical, socioeconomic and cultural context that forged the struggle for agrarian reform in the region. His film works as the director and screenwriter, in addition to researcher for documentaries, throughout his professional career, always deals at some level with the particularities of the sugarcane region of northeastern Brazil. "
