Darryl was born and raised in Birmingham, England, by a Jamaican father and a second-generation Irish mother. He is best known as an actor for his reoccurring role as Nick in the BBC2 and HBO series TRIGONOMETRY (2020), directed by Athina Rachel Tsangari, CHEVALIER (2015), and Stella Corradi, KILLING EVE (2022). Before moving to London, Darryl worked as a one-to-one mentor for at-risk young people in Birmingham. This period of his life shaped him significantly, and his experiences continue to influence his voice as a filmmaker with his writer/directorial debut, HARD TO REACH. Darryl developed HARD TO REACH while on the BFI NETWORK Short Film Development Programme (2021), run by FILM HUB MIDLANDS.
