Goga Clay

BIOGRAPHIE

Rob Goga Clay-Onah is a former management consultant based in New York City. Born in Nigeria, he spent his formative years in both Nigeria and France and moved to the US for graduate school. A middle child, Goga has always been a free thinker with interests that vary wildly; from sports (soccer, tennis, and MMA), to adventure travel, cooking, classical music, and performing arts. In 2017, driven by personal setback and the need for soul searching, he quit his job and went backpacking across three continents and 25 countries, where he learnt about different cultures and documented his experiences. Highlights of his adventures include reaching the crater of an active volcano in Costa Rica, getting roughed up in a Rio favela, hiking Machu Picchu, and getting unlawfully detained in Kenya. Upon return to the States, Goga turned his back on the corporate world to follow his passion of writing and adventure traveling. Goga is multilingual and uses his affinity for languages to develop characters and write dialogue in his stories. Some of his influences include Michaela Coel, Rick Famuyiwa, Issa Rae, Guy Ritchie, Quentin Tarantino, Denis Veilneuve, and Taika Waititi.
