Mark Bethune is a Canadian writer/director and author. After graduating from Ryerson’s film program with an IMAX short film under his belt, Mark moved to London, England and found work as a commercial director in the UK, Germany and Bollywood, India. Mark then moved to the US to study Interactive Storytelling at Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh, PA. After a year in Beijing, China, he landed in New York City working for Oscar-Winning producer Scott Rudin. He returned to Canada to finish his debut novel which became listed as a ‘Best Book of 2018’ by Kirkus Reviews. In 2021 his short film FINDERS KEEPERS starring Dani Kind (CBC’s Working Moms) and Kristian Bruun (Orphan Black, Murdoch Mysteries) was acquired by CBC and his short film WHILE I'M HERE was selected as one of seven films by Telefilm to represent Canada at the Clarmont-Ferrand Film Market as apart of their Not Short On Talent segment. He is currently fund-raising for his debut feature, DYSTOPIAN SUMMER starring Letterkenny's K. Trevor Wilson and YouTube sensation Julie Nolke. FINDERS KEEPERS is also in development as a series.
