Wang Jun (b. 1988, Taiwan) is a video production worker and film producer. His practice is based on transformations between different creative languages (those of image, text, sound, and body), searching for the limits of language and seeking to measure the distance in the act of viewing. Fractures, mistakes, absences, and mistranslation form the landscape of a new language. His work emphasizes the process of conscious perception, reflecting on the polarity of existence as it moves from one unbalanced system of coordinates to another, in which very gesture, every action, every landscape is a drama and also a film. He is adept at explaining reality through allegories, comparing image and time, and creating space through events. He hopes his practice may release viewers from linear time, allowing them to enter his narratives, and exist within the time of these narratives. Sappukei (2021) is his first short film.
