Antonio Llamas (1992, Madrid - Spain) and Lucas G. Torralbo (1993, Madrid) founded in the winter of 2014 the film collective 'espírituescalera', with the intention of exploring the possibilities and the apparent limits and standards of the sound image in movement. In a natural and organic way, some of the themes and interests that run through their work are the relationships of isolation and communication of human beings with their environment, the need for catharsis as a motive for evolution, the contradictions between reality and dreams, and the traces of vital or creative processes. So far their works have toured a multitude of international film festivals such as DocLisboa, Malaga Festival, FICVIÑA, Minsk Listapad, FICAL, Curtocircuito, Ethnografilm Paris, or Riga IFF, among others. espírituescalera also been exhibited in several architecture Biennials, such as the Venice Biennale 2018 or Rabat Biennale 2019, and in spaces such as MATADERO or La Fábrica de Armas in Oviedo. Their feature film "Neighborhood Mythology" has been recently selected by MARGENES for the development laboratory 'MRG/WORK'21' and by ABYCINE Lanza as one of the eight finalists for its 'Impulso WIP' forum. Also, their project 'The coming insurrection' has recently received one of the MATADERO CREA Grants for visual creation, awarded by MATADERO MADRID and CENTRO DE RESIDENCIAS ARTÍSTICAS, and they are nominated by them for the tenth edition of VISIO-European Programme on Artists’ Moving Images. They are co-founders of |CARNICERÍA, a creative space that they share with other film collectives and colleagues from other creative disciplines. Currently, they are in the process of post-production of three projects: 'Neighborhood Mythology’', 'Dulcinea, La Llorona' and 'Full reading of The Society of the Spectacle, in Athens, at first reading'. In parallel, they are also developing their first fiction feature film, ‘LAGUNA, EL MINISTRO’.
