Olga Ruin is a film maker and writer of film criticism. She has studied documentary film making at Biskops Arnö, Sweden and has a MFA Film from Valand Academy, Gothenburg in Sweden. Her previous short films "The Interstice" and "The Conductor" have been screened at BUFF Malmö and FIPADOC, Biarritz. "Efter Barnen" (After The Children) is her first fiction film but just like in her documentaries, Ruin depicts people who find themselves in states of in-betweenness and upcoming change. Space and place become characters in themselves. Her films depart from the idea that you can never really know a person before you’ve seen them standing at a cross-road.
