BIOGRAPHIE

Writer/Director Melissa is a professional entertainer and storyteller, comfortable on both sides of the camera. As a violinist she can be heard on film soundtracks like THE HOBBIT and THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING. She also performs on television shows like THE GRAMMY AWARDS and across four continents with a diverse range of pop and classical artists, from Adele to the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Melissa has degrees in Music and Creative Writing from the Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University and City University, London. Filmmaking is the culmination of her talents and enthusiasm for creation as well as collaboration. Melissa is particularly motivated to write an underrepresented range of characters; a lifetime of befriending and performing with professionals in all art forms gives her the special insight to create her first short film, DUETTE, and other tales of backstage life. She is currently in talks to option her first feature script and a fictional podcast, both with a musical element.
