I am a Los Angeles based independent filmmaker with 19 documentaries broadcast on PBS and major cable. I began my filmmaking career producing the Academy Award-nominated documentary With Babies and Banners: Story of the Women’s Emergency Brigade. My films include: Danger: Kids at Work, The New Los Angeles and Bridging the Divide: Tom Bradley and the Politics of Race. I have produced 3 PBS series: The Roman Empire in the First Century, Japan: Memoirs of a Secret Empire, and California and the American Dream, and directed episodes of the PBS series The Great Depression, The Great War and People in Motion. My films have received an Academy Award nomination; two Emmy Awards; a George Foster Peabody Award; two du-Pont Columbia Awards; a Golden Mike; a CINE Golden Eagle and three Bronze Telly Awards and have screened at film festivals including: Los Angeles Film Festival; New York Film Festival; Telluride Film Festival; Pan African Film Festival; San Diego Latino Film Festival; Indy Shorts and the American Film Institute.
