Shashank Walia is a cinematography alumnus of Film and Television Institute of India (2011) and a post-graduate degree holder in Mass Communication from AJK MCRC, Jamia Millia Islamia (2008). His cinematography credit includes international documentary projects for NHK Japan, Wishing Step Pictures Canada and NYFA. He was also recently commissioned for an essay film titled ‘Somewhere Nowhere’ by Public Service Broadcasting Trust, India, which was an official selection at the 12th IDSFFK in the short documentary section. The film in consideration is first production by the art collective ‘Two Black Squares Media,’ that he has formed in collaboration with Reema Kaur where they seek to explore music, photography and cinema aesthetically and formally.
