BIOGRAPHIE

Alexandra Lemay is a pop-culture nerd who works as a commercial art director, fabricator, and stop-motion animator. She designs sets and makes puppets, props, and costumes for TV, museums, and costume shops, but her true passion lies in storytelling, especially to expose life's dark little secrets with self-deprecating humour. She has directed two short films produced by the NFB, All the Rage (2016) which was nominated for an IRIS at the Gala du cinema Quebecois, and Freaks of Nurture (2018), which won Best Comedy Short at the New York City Short Film Festival and the Audience Award for Best Short Film at Cinequest. Both films have made their mark as audience favourites in festivals internationally. She just finished co-producing and directing her first independent stop-motion/live-action short film, Quick Fix (2020) and is currently developing a stop-motion horror-comedy series to be co-produced with the NFB.
