BIOGRAPHIE

Born in Belgrade, Serbia, 1989. Enrolled directing class on Academy of Arts in 2011. Since, he directed couple of short docs and fiction films. In 2013 his short documentary ”The love case or tragedy of an ordinary man” has been screened at numerous festivals and won awards such as best director and best film. The “Horizons”, his bachelor degree feature fiction, had a premiere at 39th Cairo IFF in 2017, later becoming one of the most successful bachelor degree films in Serbia. Currently he’s working on post-production of short fiction film “Body Parts” and editing feature documentary “I’m People, I am Nobody” (Meeting point Vilnius, MakeDox, Beldocs (Serbia)- international jury special mention award, EW Talents Lab, and Docs Barcelona) His first professional feature fiction “Summer Nights, Morning Haze” (developed through: MIDPOINT intensive Serbia and New Horizons STUDIO+ program), about breakdown of a young married couple is currently in developing phase, while he’s writing a script for feature fiction “Lines”, about deadly cooperation between Yugoslavian secret service and mobsters, during Yugoslavian wars. In all of his films, Svetislav is trying to depict tragic portraits, characters’ inner struggles, inside the society they inhabit and confront. He is a member of the Documentary Association of Europe and Berlinale Talents alumni. Co-founder of boutique production company Gray Tree Film, based in Belgrade. Married to Ivana, father of Dušan.
