BIOGRAPHIE

The thriller, Daggers Drawn (2021), is the second short film written and directed by US-based, James Cotton. James' debut, Tiger Claw, was a no-holds-barred kung fu action comedy shot in the UK. The short won numerous awards across the globe, including the Audience Choice at Fighting Spirit Film Festival (2019), both Best Action Film & Most Memorable Film at Yellow Fever Indie Film Festival (2020), and Best Comedy at Hollywood Florida Film Festival (2020). The film was acquired by Premium Films in Paris, and continues to play on TV and at festivals across the globe. As a writer, James’ first short screenplay to be produced was Rule Number Three, starring Nicholas Hoult and Imogen Poots. The film screened at Oscar-qualifying festivals, and is available on Amazon Prime. James began his journey studying film and literature at the University of Warwick, before attaining my MA in producing from the renowned NFTS in the UK. James predominantly worked as an independent producer in the UK prior to moving to the US, most recently co-producing psychological horror Possum (2018), starring Sean Harris, and Kindred (2020), starring Tamara Lawrance and Jack Lowden. James has numerous projects in development, with works set in both the US and UK.
