One of Australia’s most accomplished actors, Damian Walshe-Howling has an impressive list of Film and Television credits. Gaining critical acclaim for his performance in Australia’s highly celebrated Television series UNDERBELLY, his personification of “Melbourne’s most loved murderer”, Andrew Benji Veniamin, captured the hearts and minds of Australian and International audiences. The many accolades led to Damian winning an AFI Award in 2008 for Best Supporting Actor in a Television Drama. His extensive list of television credits include the Steven Spielberg produced series TERRA NOVA, Nine Network/NBC’s tele-movie PANIC AT ROCK ISLAND, THE SECRET LIFE OF US, EAST WEST 101, RESCUE SPECIAL OPS, SATISFACTION, WILFRED, ALL SAINTS, BLUE HEELERS, HALIFAX F.P. STINGERS, BROTHERS IN ARMS, THE TIME OF OUR LIVES, OLD SCHOOL starring Bryan Brown and Sam Neill and three seasons of the critically acclaimed ABC series JANET KING. He has most recently been seen in the US NETFLIX adventure series TITANS, ABC Australia’s popular crime drama JACK IRISH and Paramount Plus’s recent smash hit TV series LAST KING OF THE CROSS. As a presenter Damian has hosted a number of high rating shows including Nine Network’s CUSTOMS and the quirky film buff series FLICKERFEST ON EXTRA for Foxtel. Damian’s Film credits include pivotal roles in HE DIED WITH A FELAFEL IN HIS HAND, MACBETH, A WRECK A TANGLE, Ivan Sen’s thriller MYSTERY ROAD alongside Hugo Weaving and Jack Thompson as well as AROUND THE BLOCK in which he co-starred opposite Christina Ricci. In 2013 Damian won Best Actor at A Night of Horror International Film Festival for his lead role in the terrifying shark thriller THE REEF. He is most currently engaged in the NETFLIX hit Sci Fi 2067 alongside Kodi Smit-Mcphee, Ryan Kwanten & Deborah Mailman as well as the upcoming independent feature films DARKLANDS and JUST A FARMER. Damian’s Theatre credits include lead roles in the Belvoir Street productions A VIEW OF CONCRETE and CRAVE as well as lead roles in DANNY AND THE DEEP BLUE SEA, MOJO, FOOL FOR LOVE and Brendan Cowell’s highly successful Melbourne production of MEN. Most recently Damian starred in the Black Swan Theatre Company production of David Mamet’s Pulitzer Prize winning GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS and the MTC’s Greenroom Award Winning Production of the Arthur Miller classic A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE. As a Writer/Director, Damian won the prestigious International LEXUS SHORT FILM SERIES and was awarded close to half a million dollars to write and direct his third short film MESSiAH starring David Gulpilil and Stephen Hunter. After enjoying successful premiers around the world, it sold to both SBS Australia and AMAZON International. Damian’s previous short films THE BLOODY SWEET HIT and SUSPENDED also opened a number of esteemed international festivals, including Locarno in Switzerland, Cannes Cinephiles, Nashville, Slamdance, Flickerfest and St Kilda. Both films went on to enjoy extensive sales internationally including MTV Europe. Most recently Damian has written and directed his 4th short film UNSPOKEN and has been working as a Writer/Director with production company Guilty Content as well as developing a number of his own independent Film and TV projects.
